Well, 2012 has drawn to a close, as years have a habit of doing.
The year started with quite a knock to our hopes and dreams. In March, DreamCatcher Publishing closed its doors, and suddenly Jaspa’s Journey was homeless.
Yet in life there are always pros and cons. Thinking positively, the biggest upside to the situation in which we found ourselves following DreamCatcher’s closure, was that Rich and Sue once again controlled the publishing rights for Jaspa’s Journey. This meant we were now free to explore new avenues and possibilities.
These began in June with the re-release of Jaspa’s Journey: The Great Migration as an ebook, complete with an exciting redesigned cover by Hollywood artist, Brad Hughes. The sequel, Jaspa’s Journey 2: The Pride of London, had been ready to go for some time when DreamCatcher closed. In October, we were finally able to release it in ebook format, again with artwork by Brad.
We know that printed versions of both novels will one day (once again) grace the shelves of bookstores. For now, they are available as ebooks from most major online retailers (see my website for details).
And there’s more exciting news: the next instalment of Jaspa’s Journey – entitled Jaspa’s Waterloo – is close to completion! It should hopefully be released as a FREE ebook in a couple of months. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on that!
In the meantime, if anyone knows of a publisher who might be interested in an ongoing series of children’s novels with a proven sales record, including an Award Winning Finalist in the Children’s Educational category of USA Book News’ 2009 Best Books Awards, Rich would love to hear from them.
In parting, I’d like to thank you for following my blog in 2012. I look forward to us having a successful, interesting and fun year together in 2013.
