Where’s Jaspa? (May 29th, 2013)

We spent most of today in the clouds. Actually inside the clouds. Often being pelted by rain and even snow. Can you identify where?…

Once again, we were hoping to spy a volcanic peak, close up. And once again, it had other ideas. If Mount Rainier took her time but eventually revealed her summit, and Mount St Helens was reluctant to show anything but her lower slopes, today’s mountain  was having absolutely none of it! From the Timberline Lodge, at 6000 feet, we could hardly even see the slope in front of us!

There's a mountain up there, honest!

There’s a mountain up there, honest!

Yet, we did get to see the second highest waterfall in the United States…

The two tier drop of ______ Falls

The two tier drop of ______ Falls

And a piece of geocaching history…

Nice plaque!

Nice plaque!

While the answer to yesterday’s quiz was, of course, Portland (Oregon, not Maine!).

Portland, Oregon, says it with flowers

  3. I have similar photos of the Alps, due to fog and mist. Frustrating, isn’t it?

    • Jaspa says:

It is, Elizabeth. But not as frustrating as not having your camera ready. We flew into Heathrow yesterday and unexpectedly had an incredible view down on central London. Unfortunately, Rich’s camera was in the locker above our heads, and even his phone was turned off. He’s still really annoyed with himself!

I always meant to get to the Pioneer Square when they have their flower displays.

I'd love to hear what you've got to say!
