I love a good sunrise or sunset. The way the glow of the Sun, close to the horizon, seems to set the entire sky ablaze. The long, distorted shadows cast at these times of day. And the bands and streaks of different colour that result, in the sky and on the ground. The whole thing always lifts my spirits, even if I’m already feeling contented.
We saw quite a few sunrises, and no end of sunsets, during our time in Hawaii at the end of last year. I wrote a previous blog about a particularly memorable sunrise atop the volcano of Haleakala, over 10,000 feet up.
As both times of day always cause Rich to become even more trigger-happy than usual, we have a whole bunch of photos of them. So I’ve been looking for an excuse to post a bit of a showcase.
And today I’ve finally got my chance, thanks to the photo themes chosen this week byAilsa (of Where’s My Backpack?), Cee (of Cee’s Photography), and Nancy (of Nancy Merrill Photography), who have given us Glow, Shadows and Stripes, respectively. Thanks to all of them for providing Rich and I with a reason to indulge ourselves!
While you’re still mesmerised by the beauty of Hawaiian dawns and dusks, why not sign up and follow my continuing Journeys here at Jaspa’s Journal, or through my website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram?
And if that’s not enough for you, there are now three Jaspa’s Journey novels to enjoy as ebooks! Perfect for Kids 8 – 80!
